RIGHT TO INFORMATION (RTI) - Bringing Information to the Citizens
Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. It is an initiative taken by Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions to provide a– RTI Portal Gateway to the citizens for quick search of information on the details of first Appellate Authorities,PIOs etc. amongst others, besides access to RTI related information / disclosures published on the web by various Public Authorities under the government of India as well as the State Governments
Objective of the Right to Information Act :
The basic object of the Right to Information Act is to empower the citizens,promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government,contain corruption, and make our democracy work for the people in real sense.It goes without saying that an informed citizen is better equipped to keep necessary vigil on the instruments of governance and make the government more accountable to the governed.The Act is a big step towards making the citizens informed about the activities of the Government.

01	The Particulars of its Organisation, Functions and Duties	Little Flower College, Guruvayoor, Kerala founded by the Fransiscan Clarist Congregation in 1955, is an Higher Education Institution affiliated to the University of Calicut. This Institution is a Grant in Aid College, established under the rules and regulations of the Government of India in the State of Kerala. This Institution is a College with Potential for excellence(CPE) graded with a NAAC Score of 3.52 CGPA in 2015. The College is a Post Graduate portal that offers 9 Programmes with 16 Under Graduate and 9 Post Graduate Courses and a community college. The staff members comprise of 139 full time personnel which includes both teaching and non teaching staff. We have student strength of around 2000 women. The college stands updated and resourceful to meet the challenges of the fast changing world and that of the new generation.
02	The Powers and Duties of its Officers and Employees	The Principal is the executive, academic and administrative head of the institution. The policy decisions are taken by the Governing Body in consultation with the IQAC and the Staff Council. The principal assigns duties to the Staff and the Administrative Office and they are held responsible to the Principal. Regular meetings of the administrative council are held to share updates and monitor the activities. The Department activities and academics are monitored by the Heads of the Departments who assign duties in consultation with other staff members.
