Department of Human Resource Management in Association with Career Guidance and Placement Cell, Little Flower College, Guruvayoor conducted an internship drive of Neethu’s Academy, Ernakulam for UG and PG students at the seminar hall on 29th July 2024 at 10.30 am. Suitable candidates for the internship drive were chosen based on resume screening. The selection of interns were done based on group discussion and interviews. The shortlisted students were given letters of internships and product training. 32 students from the college participated in the drive and 24 were selected.
An Exhibition cum Sale of cardboard items had been organized as part of the “Learn to Earn Program” initiated by the Department of Human Resource Management to celebrate World Entrepreneur Day on 21st August 2024. The exhibition showcased various articles and items created by the students of Little Flower College Guruvayoor. These included homes, ATM, Calender, and wall hangings. The aim is to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and creativity while generating earnings for them. The ultimate goal is to boost their confidence, instil a sense of self-dependence, and develop resilience among the students. The funds raised had been spent on providing necessities to those affected by Wayanad landslides.
A
mime and musical theatre were organised by the department of Human Resource
Management on 17th October 2023 on the theme of Drug Addiction and
Cruelty against Children. The mime also gave a sensitisation about Diabetes.
A Breast Cancer awareness session was conducted on 26th October 2023 by the students
of 1st year HRM for the students of the department of Human Resource
Management. Self-examination techniques and prevention of breast cancer were
discussed during this session.
A sign language workshop was conducted on 29th September 2023 for the NSS volunteers of our college. 6 student trainers from other departments provided training to these students. 93 students participated in the programme.
A Quiz competition was conducted on 05th June 2023 in
connection with World environment day.
The
department association HR HUB inauguration for the year 2023-24 was done on 13th
December 2023. The inauguration was done by Mr. Jacob C J, Deputy Manager, HCM
Department, Gram Pro Business Services Pvt. Ltd. He also gave a speech on Human
Resource Management in Banking.
A
panel discussion was conducted on 20th May 2023 in connection with
International HR Day. The panel discussed about ‘Shaping the new Future’. This
was conducted in association with Providence Women’s College. Ms. Stella
Joseph, Head HR and PR Operations, China Petroleum Engineering, Middle East,
Dubai and Ms. Savitha Rajkumar, Lead Global Consultant, First Speak by Lepaya,
UK were the guest speakers.
A
webinar was conducted on Structural understanding of HR in Banking and Finance
Industry on 9th March 2023. The resource person was Mr. Dwarakesh B
– HR Manager of Avanse Financial Services Ltd.
A
webinar was conducted in International Human resource Insights and Experience
Sharing on 28th February 2023. The resource person was Ms. Stella
Joseph. Head HR & PR Operations, China Petroleum Engineering, Middle East,
Dubai.
With the second batch of students in the year 2022, an association was formed. The formal inauguration of the association was on the 11th of November 2022.
‘HR HUB’, the association of the
department of Human resource management was inaugurated by Dr. Benny Joseph, CEO
of Jubilee Mission Hospital Thrissur. The Principal of our college Dr. Valsa MA
had presided the inauguration of the association.
The guest emphasized on the Industries’
expectation from HR graduates and gave valuable insights.
A webinar was
organised on Careers in HR and Various Challenges of HR on January 29th 2022 by Mr. Edwin Thomas who is the Senior
HR BP of HDFC Bank, Ernakulam region. It was an interactive session through
which the students could understand the whole gamut of HR.
