Ms. Ann Maria C. G, Research Scholar, Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, has served as the resource person for the “Five day workshop on "Research Methodology" organised by the Post Graduate Department of Mathematics & Statistics in association with IQAC, Little Flower College Guruvayoor from 25 July 2022 to 29 July 2022.
As a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Department of Mathematics organised an activity, ‘Snap a Selfie with Tiranga’. The students and faculties were asked to take a selfie with the National Flag during 13-15 August 2022. Students and Faculties actively participated in the event.
In Connection with National Sudoku Day, Post Graduate Department of Mathematics conducted a Sudoku Challenge for the faculties. Faculties from various departments participated in the competition. Ms. Riya Jacob of BCA Department secured the first prize.
In connection with National Statistics day, Post Graduate Department of Mathematics and Department of Statistics conducted Statistics Quiz for B.Sc. Mathematics students on 21.06.2022.
Mathematics Association inauguration was held on September 29, 2022. Mr. Harish V N, HOD & Assistant Professor, Sree Kerala Varma College. Ms. Silpa of III B.Sc Mathematics was elected as the Association secretary for the academic year 2022-2023. Manuscript Magazine ‘Ganithathalangal’ was released on the same day. A talk on ‘Polynomials to Power Series’ was given to B.Sc and M.Sc students by Mr. Harish V N, HOD & Assistant Professor, Sree Kerala Varma College.
As a part of National Mathematics Day,
Department of Mathematics organized a Seminar on the topic ‘Higher Studies and
Career Opportunities’ in association with the Career Guidance and Placement
cell of our college on 19 December 2022. Mr Raveesh r Varrier, Assistant
Professor, St Aloysius College served as the resource person.
A One-day Career guidance and personality
development camp was organised for the minority students by the Directorate of
Minority welfare Department, Govt of Kerala on 17 December 2022, in Association
with Department of Mathematics.

Statistics And School Of Data Analytics, M G University, Kerala served as A Resource Person.

Mathematics Quiz was conducted by the department of mathematics with Dr. Lejo J
Manavalan as the Quiz master on March 9, 2022. Students from 1st M.Sc.
Mathematics, 1st B.Sc. Mathematics and 3rd B. Sc. Mathematics participated in
the Quiz.

In Connection with the International Mathematics Day the
department of mathematics organised a talk. The resource person was Dr. Rahul
Rajan Postdoctoral Fellow of Cochin University of Science and Technology. The
talk was held at St Francis Hall of the college. The meeting began with prayer
by Jasmine of first year M.Sc. Mathematics. Vandana of 3rd B.Sc. Mathematics
welcomed the gathering, after which Dr. Rahul Rajan enlightened the gathering
with the talk On Introduction to real
numbers. Sandria Sara Sabu delivered the vote of thanks.
The
Department of Mathematics in Connection with National Mathematics Day Conducted
a
SUDOKU Competition on December 22, 2021. Zainab Bismi of first year B. Sc Mathematics Secured the first Position in the competition.
The
Department of Mathematics inaugurated its association with a meeting on 17
December, 2021. The meeting began with a silent prayer. Angel Mary James of 1
M.Sc. Mathematics welcomes the gathering.Following which Linta Davis of 1 M.Sc.
Mathematics introduced the chief guest and invited the guest to deliver the
talk. The talk on Limits and Convergence
by Mathew Thomas, St Thomas College, Thrissur was very enlightening to the

Later Alphy Jose discussed about the Academic progress of students, she also pointed on the Semester exams and response of students during online classes.Later Dr Mariamma Antony also laid her points on academics of students and gave some valuable suggestions.Later on few Parents cleared their doubts regarding the offline classes and much more. of 2 B.Sc Mathematics Conducted free tuition for students in their community.
“Freedom in our mind, faith in words, pride in our souls.” On 15th August
2021, India celebrated its
75th Independence Day .We salute the brave heroes for their courageous
& determined effort which freed us
from the British clutches back in 1947.
The III BSc Mathematics students of Little Flower College, Guruvayoor as a part of Independence Day celebrations prepared a video titled “MOKSH” reflecting on the significance of this day.It started off with an introduction by Shahana C , followed by a small dance & a patriotic song.Then it took , us back to some of the major events of our Freedom struggle.The video was concluded by Aswathi PD.

International days are occasions to educate the general public on issues of
concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems,
and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity.
The department of Mathematics observes most of the relevant International and National Days. In this pandemic era, our students observed the anti- narcotics week 2021 by sending a relevant message with a photo collage made by themselves. The students gave a good message through the photo collage they created and shared with others. They also shared thought provoking videos against narcotics.

"The journey of a Lifetime starts
with the turning of a page". We all know that National Reading day is
celebrating on 19th June as a remembrance of P.N pannicker, the father of
'Library and Literacy Movement in Kerala'. This year mark the silver jubilee
year. In 1996, the day began as the movement to promote a culture of reading
and promote book-mindedness among everyone. We the 1 st M.Sc. Mathematics
students of Little flower college conduct a program at 12 :30 pm on 19-6-2021
via Google meet to promote and share the importance of the same. We
27 students with 2 of our teachers participated in the function. The program
began with the welcome speech of Soniya, and followed by sharing of experience
by Ms. Anju S Mattam that she had while the journey of reading . Ms. Rose
Paul encourage us to read by quoting 'Today a reader, tomorrow a leader',
and on the importance of reading in our lives. Three of us Jissa Mariya
(Dongri to Dubai by S. Hussain Zaidi), Sandra Rose(Whuthering Heights by Emily
Brontë) and Haripriya T.S(Goat Days by Benyamin) shared a brief review of the
books they read and made us believe the beauty of reading. We concluded the
program at 1 PM by vote of Thanks by Athulya M.S.

attended the online celebration at 4 pm and Jeevana jose was the master of Ceremony . The programme
began with a prayer song by Gayathri. P. Welcome speech was given by the class
leader Minu Rose Vazhapally .Then followed by a speech about the importance of
reading day by Anjali . M. Review of the famous book ”THINK LIKE A MONK”
written by J.SHETTY was introduced by Anjana Viswanathan .The brochure and
video about reading was presented by Aaliya Sulthana & Hanan Irshad .
Gayathri . P recited a poem “ASWAMEDHAM” written by V. Madhusoodanan Nair. Dr.
Mariyamma Antony, Dr. Lejo J Manavalan and Ms. Amitha Shaji shared a few words
about the importance of reading. The program was concluded wiht vote of thanks
by the Assistant leader Neethu K. Pradeep .

About Books. They let you travel without moving your feet”. June 19 is celebrated as National Reading Day
in
honour of P N Panicker, the father of the “Library and Literacy Movement in
Kerala” .The motto of
National Reading Day is ‘Read and Grow’. This year marks Silver Jubilee year. We the III B.Sc. Mathematics
students of Little Flower College conducted an online program “Madhurami
Vayana” via Google Meet on 19/06/2021 at 12:30 pm to emphasis on importance of
reading. The program was attended by the III year students along with 3 faculty
members Alphy Miss, Neethu Miss & Amitha Miss. The program began with a
prayer by Rinu Shajan and Bhahija welcomed the gathering. Then there was oral
presentations of Book Review by Shahana C (Ikigai), Sandra Mary K.S (Three Men
in a Boat, Adujeevitham), Jisa George (Charlie Chaplin), Vandana P (Verukal)
& Asiya Hina (Nellikka). They gave brief summary of different books. Later
our Teachers gave us some valuable message on the importance of reading. The
Program was concluded at 1pm by vote of thanks by Brinsha Ibrahim.

In connection with Kerala Piravi (01st November 2020), Department of Mathematics, Little Flower College, Guruvayoor organised a Ganitha Kavitha Rachana competition for students of our college on the Topic “Kanakkukootalukal”.
In connection with 3rd death Anniversary of Maryam Mirzakhani (14th July 2020), Department of Mathematics, organized an Intercollegiate poster making competition on the topic “Contributions of 'Maryam Mirzakhani”.
National Webinar on “Statistics for
Planning and Development” was organized by the Post Graduate Department of
Mathematics and Statistics in connection with National Statistics Day on 29
June 2020. Dr K Jayakumar, Professor and Head, Department of Statistics, University of Calicut served as the resource person.
An alumnae meet was organized by the department on 07.12.2019 to honour the retiring staff Sr. Shirly T A & Dr. Sr. Philomena C F. More than 100 of our old students gathered on the same day.
On 25.09.2019 & 27.09.2019 four students from I M.Sc. Mathematics and ten students from III B.Sc. Mathematics under the guidance of Sr. Shirly, Ms Anju S Mattam & Ms Meera V U given training to the 23 inmates of Chavakkad sub jail on umbrella, paper cover & cloth mat making.
On 8th &
9th August 2019 Postgraduate department of Mathematics and Department of
Statistics jointly organized two day international Seminar on “Advanced
Mathematics and Statistics” Prof. Jayadevan Sreedharan, Professor of
Epidemology and Bio statistics at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE
inaugurated the seminar.
The activities of the
Mathematics Association inaugurated on 01.08.2019 by Dr. Joju K.T, Associate
professor and Head, Department of Mathematics, Prajothi Nithekan College,
Puthukkad 2019 and a talk on “Cryptography and its applications” for the M.Sc.
Mathematics students was arranged. The Departmental Manuscript Magazine
“Ganitha dahalangal” Vol. IX , “Famous
Statisticians” was released by Dr. Joju K.T on the same day.
