Workshop on LED Bulb making on 24/03/2023
ED Club and IIC of the institution conducted a workshop on LED Bulb Making in association with
Dept. of Physics on 24/03/2023. Principal Sr. Dr. Valsa M.A. inaugurated the workshop. Five
faculty members and 54 students took part in the programme. The students assembled 57 bulbs
using the kits and they were sold in the campus itself.

This year’s environment day theme ‘only one earth’ focus on getting the world together in harmony to advocate the idea of sustainable living. As a part of this, the students of Department of Physics observed World Environment day by planting trees in the premises of their own houses on 05.06.2022.

World Regional Language Day-Speech competition-21/2/2022
In Connection with World Regional Language Day , Department of Physics organised a departmental level Speech competition on the topic “Malayalabhashayum Vaividhyangalum”. The competition was held on 21-2-2022 at 1pm. Five students participated in the programme and Hithasree P of IIIDC Physics won the first prize. The participants spoke well about Malayalam language and the session was really informative. About 30 students of B Sc Physics were benefitted by the programme.

LED Bulb distribution at Moopen colony on 23/12/2021
The LED bulbs assembled by the students in the workshop were distributed among houses in Moopen Colony, Mammiyoor on 23/12/2021. Our students visited 44 houses in the colony and gave awareness about the advantages of using LED bulbs.
WORKSHOP ON LED BULB MAKING IN CONNECTION WITH ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY-10/12/2021

A workshop on LED bulb making was conducted on 10/12/2021 from
1.30pm to 3.30pm by IIC of Little Flower College, Guruvayoor in collaboration
with Dept. of Physics in connection with Energy conservation day. 46 students
participated in the workshop. Raw materials for the workshop were arranged by
Dept. of Physics with the aid of management. Principal Dr.Valsa MA inaugurated
the workshop by giving a LED bulb kit to Niha Rose. Students actively
participated in the workshop and made 24 LED bulbs in the workshop.

Review competition on 25th June 2021 in connection with reading week celebrations

of their favourite books. Most students choosed novels as their favourite

Online Quiz Competition ‘Lunar Day Quiz 2K20’ 21/7/2020-23/7/2020
In connection with moon day 2020, an online quiz competition ‘Lunar Day Quiz 2K20’ was
conducted by Department of Physics. The quiz was open to all from 21st July 2020 to 23rd
July 2020. More than 1600 candidates participated in this quiz programme. E- certificates
were given to all the participants who secured 60% percentage or above. This quiz helped
the participants to test their knowledge in this field.

The
BSc.Physics students conducted awareness class on the topic ’’conserving the
nature by conserving energy for the women in the Anjangadi locality of
Kadappuram Panchayath. The class focused mainly on nature conservation, solar
energy, preservation of ozone layer, irradication of plastics etc. The palmphlets including the tips to conserve nature were
also distributed among the people in the locality.

In connection with energy conservation day,on 14th december students of Physics department spread awareness among public by conducting a rally in collaberation with Karuna foundation ,Guruvayoor and distributed handbooks containing the tips for energy conservation to the other departments.

An exhibition ’Luna Strings’ and a cartoon competition on the topic ‘In search of a new earth’ were conducted on Moon day (21/7/2016)
As a tribute to our former president Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam, Dept. of Physics hosted an exhibition on life history of Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam organized by Sri Muthu Orumanayoor on 27/7/2016
Paper presentation was done by Ms.Laly.A.S.representing Dept. of physics on the topic 'optical fiber communication system'.
A trip was arranged to III DC main students to Trivandrum,Kanyakumari and Alappuzha including industrial visit at VSSC,Trivandrum.
