On August 27, 2024, the Department of Computer Science hosted an e-poster competition to celebrate National Webmistress Day, focusing on the theme "Women Leading Web Design." Held in the Computer Science Lab, the event featured seven student entries and aimed to highlight the influence of women in web design while showcasing student creativity. Nair Devika Sunil from the 3rd year English department won first place for her exceptional e-poster. The competition received positive feedback, successfully raising awareness and enthusiasm for digital design.

Observance of Computer Literacy Day (27/11/2023 to 2/12/2023)-In connection with World Computer Literacy Day , the association organized a one week programme “LOGIN 2023”.
On the occasion of World Computer Literacy Day 2023, a PPT Presentation Competition was organized for Higher Secondary Students on December 1, 2023, to explore the "Role of AI in Day-to-Day Life." The event aimed to foster awareness and understanding of the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) among the youth. Nineteen participants from various higher secondary schools showcased their prowess in understanding and presenting the multifaceted dimensions of AI. The competition was fierce, with presentations spanning from healthcare to education, and from smart homes to business applications. Jenis Joju Thalakotoor and Anju M J from LFCGHSS, Mummiyoor, emerged as the winners, securing the 1st and 2nd prizes, respectively. Jenis Joju Thalakotoor received a certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of Rs 1001, while Anju M J was awarded a certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of Rs 501. The principal of the institution, in a formal ceremony, felicitated the winners and distributed participation certificates to all 19 participants, encouraging them to continue their exploration of the dynamic world of AI. The event not only celebrated World Computer Literacy Day but also provided a platform for young minds to engage with and understand the transformative role of AI in our daily lives.

In commemoration of World Computer Literacy Day, the Department of Computer Science and Applications organized a remarkable Computer Exhibition at the college portico on December 1, 2023. The event aimed to foster awareness and understanding of the latest developments in computer technology among students and the wider college community.The exhibition featured an array of informative charts detailing cutting-edge advancements in computer technology. These visuals served as an excellent resource for students and visitors, offering insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of the digital world. Students actively participated in the exhibition by showcasing computer hardware and offering live demonstrations of its assembly and functioning. This hands-on approach allowed attendees to gain practical knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of computing devices. The exhibition was inaugurated by the college Principal, emphasizing the institution's commitment to promoting computer literacy. Overall, the Computer Exhibition served as a platform for students to showcase their skills, share knowledge, and promote a culture of continuous learning in the realm of computer science and applications.
The
workshop on Google Tools, organized by the Department of Computer Science and
Applications at Little Flower College, Guruvayoor, took place on November 29,
2023, at the Computer Science Lab. This skill-oriented program was driven by
the final year students of B.Sc Computer Science and BCA, drawing the active
participation of 19 students from diverse departments. The session aimed to
familiarize attendees with various Google Tools like Drive, Docs, Sheets,
Slides, File sharing and Forms, ,
offering hands-on practice and insights into their practical applications for
academic and professional purposes. The interactive workshop equipped
participants with valuable skills in optimizing workflow, enhancing
collaboration, and boosting productivity using these essential Google
applications.
On December 12th, the second-year students organized a heartwarming Christmas celebration at the Aruvi Rehabilitation Centre located in Pudussery. The primary aim was to bring joy, warmth, and festive cheer to the residents of the center.The students diligently collected essential items, including daily necessities and sweets, to distribute among the inmates. This effort was part of a larger initiative to ensure the residents' comfort and happiness during the holiday season.The highlight of the day was the array of cultural activities that the students arranged. They conducted various performances, including music, dance, and skits, engaging the inmates and spreading the spirit of Christmas through these joyful presentations.The residents' response was overwhelming; their faces lit up with happiness and gratitude throughout the celebration. The interaction between the students and the inmates was filled with heartfelt moments and shared laughter, fostering a sense of togetherness and companionship.
The association activities were officially inaugurated on 19h October 2023 by Mr,Jojith T Rajan Global Head of AI & AI Principal Scientist,Xoriant Inc,Sunnyvale,Silicon Valley,USA followed by a talk on “The Unprecedented Evolution and Future of AI”
Department of Computer Science organised an Industrial visit and Study tour to Mysore, Chikkamagaluru and Coorg from 20th September 2023 to 23rd September 2023. 32 final year BSc Computer Science Students attended the Industrial visit at Kaynes Technology India Limited, Mysore on 21st September 2023. Kaynes Technology is a leading end-to-end and IoT solutions-enabled integrated electronics manufacturer in India. Company officials explained about various IoT based products under manufacturing. Dr. Mareena A A and Dr. Hitha Paulson accompenied the students.
On 27th June 2023, Departments of Computer Science and Computer Application jointly organized a one-day state-level seminar on Machine Learning.The seminar provided a platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and networking opportunities in the field of Machine Learning. Dr. Jisha Jose Panakal, Assistant Professor & Research Guide from the Department of Computer Science, SH College, Chalakudy, inaugurated the seminar and served as the Resource Person. The seminar witnessed a diverse gathering of more than 200 participants, including students, faculty members, from various colleges.

Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam was the chief guest of this program.
He inaugurated our association. The inauguration ceremony enriched with the
seminar “Block chain”. The seminar session was handled by our chief guest. By
this session students aware about Block chain technology-which is the basis for
the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, but which can be used for much more-enables
digital transactions without the use of intermediaries, which are much faster
and also more secure than as previously been possible. He also discussed
various opportunities in Computer Science and motivated students. A memento
delivered to chief guest by our principal. MS. Neha Nasrin(Joint Secretary, CA)
delivered vote of thanks. The program ended with National Anthem.
In connection with World Computer Literacy Day, Department of Computer Science & Application organized one-week celebration for computer literacy awareness. The celebration enriched with Jumbled words competition, Association inauguration and Seminar on Block chain, Career oriented webinar, PPT design competition, LOGO making competition, Spot Digital poster making competition. The students from our college actively participated in each event.
On 1st November 2022, Second Year Computer Science Students Visited Charisma , Poovanchira -"The home for Mental Patients". Cloths, Stationary Items and Food/ Snacks collected by the students of the department were distributed during the day.
On 8th November 2022, final year students cleaned the College Bus stop as a part of their Social Service Activities. All the students actively participated in the event.
In connection with “Anti-Drug awareness campaign” Department of Computer Science conducted various awareness programmes class wise on 1st and 3rd October 2022. Students and Parents Participated in the programme.
Department of Computer Science has been organized Coding competition on 13th September 2022. Ten students were actively participated in this Competition. The objective of this competition is to create programming skills. Among them Anu K S (II BSc CS) secured first position.
Department of Computer Science has been organized Best out of waste competition on 23rd August 2022. Twenty students were actively participated in this Competition. The objective of this competition is to create love for environment by making best out of waste with the help of recyclable things. Among them Sana Sathar (II BSc CS) secured first position, Musbira (II BSc CS)secured second and respectively.
In connection with World Computer Literacy Week Celebrations department of Computer Science along with department of Computer Applications Initiated an EWaste Collection Drive in association with Haritha Kerala Mission and Clean Kerala Company Ltd, Govt of Kerala
from 2 nd December 2021 to 20 th December 2021. Principal Dr. Sr. Jeesma Therese Inaugurated the Drive. All the students of the department and other department students actively participated in the Drive. The Collected EWaste was handedover to the Govt authorized Clean Kerala Company.
In Connection with 75th Independence day celebration Department of Computer Science conducted an intercollegiate “Doodle on India Contest” on 12th
august 2021. Around 19 students were
participated in this event. Sahla Yasmin AA( St.Mary’s College Thrissur), Jesna Jose(L F College,Guruvayoor), Muhammad
Safwan(ICA College Thozhiyoor) secured the first, second and third prizes
respectively.
In
connection with Malayalam Varacharanam Department conducted an intercollegiate
News Reading competition based on the topic “Covid Evaluation”. Students from
various colleges participated in the event by sending their recorded videos and
Sanofer Sulthana P C of I BSc Physics won the first prize.

collaboration with Eazylink Academy department has successfully conducted a National
level Webinar on the topic “Global Career Opportunities” on October 13th2020.
The key areas covered are Career options, Scholarship options for higher
studies, free education options in countries like Germany and Education in
India and abroad. 100 students from all over India has participated in the
webinar.
Department
conducted an intercollegiate resume writing competition “Define yourself”. 15 students
from various colleges participated in the competition. and Prathibha S Nair of
III BCA won the Cash prize of Rs 1000.
Department organized an intercollegiate Webinar “BUILD YOUR PATH” on the topic “Higher Education & Career Prospects in India &Abroad after Graduation” for the final year graduate students from science and arts streams on 22nd & 24th July 2020. 650 students from various colleges participated in the webinar. Mr. JOMY P L, Career Expert, Author & Speaker lead both the sessions.
In collaboration with Clean Kerala Company Ltd a govt of Kerala undertaking ,our department organised E-waste management drive on 26th and 27th of September 2019. We collected E-wastes from LF school, Chowannoor Grampanachayath and nearby places of college. E-wastes from departments and students were collected.
In connection with SWACHATHA mission, Computer Science Association organized a one week programme from September 24th to October 1st to propagate the message of waste management and disposal. All the students of our department participated in college campus cleaning as part of the SwachBharathAbhiyan. Students solely deployed on road cleaning activity on 25th September 2019. The road from Mammiyoor center to college was the target and it was completed successfully.
On 27th of August 2019 IInd year Computer Science students visited an old age home situated at Chowanoor for the welfare of aged people . Students collected and distributed daily need articles, sweets and conducted several cultural activities for them.
On 3rd of August 2019, alumnae meet of 2005th batch was conducted .An amount of RS 40,000 were collected by our alumnae for helping a computer science student in need.
In connection with world nature conservation day a PPT competition was conducted on 29th of July 2019, Gayathri M.R IIIrd DC English, Christina Paul V IIIrd DC English won the prizes.
The computer science association activities of this academic year 2019-2020 was officially inaugurated on 31st of August 2019 by Diji Davis.M, our former student and senior project engineer, WIPRO. The inaugural session was followed by a talk on industrial experience.
The department of computer science and applications organized an awareness campaign on water conservation as part of Swachhta Pakhwada on 27/01/2020 and 28/01/2020. The program includes water conservation survey, conservation awareness rally, and water conservation display message dance and distributed the leaflets which realize the importance of water.
On November 2nd 2023
,Department of Computer Science and Application in association with Techbyheart conducted a
seminar on Cyber security and Ethical
hacking. Head of the department of the
Computer Science Mr.Jestin James, welcomed the speakers for the day. Mr.Shonith
and Mr.Neeraj were the resource persons for the seminar. They explained various
topics relating to cybercrime, hacking, spamming, android hacking, social media
its advantages & disadvantages and gave student’s knowledge about various
tools involved in hacking, demonstrated how DDOS attacks and spamming attacks
are carried out. The seminar ended by vote of thanks proposed by Vismaya of 3rd
Dc BCA .The session was indeed useful and informative for students as they
gained knowledge about topics that they were not really exposed to in their
curriculum.
