PROGRAMMES OF 2013 - 2014

June 4 : Malayalam Department Faculty members attended centralized paper valuation camp at Sree Kerala Varma College Thrissur.
June 6 : As a part of Environmental Day celebration our Faculty members both Malayalam & Sanskrit  planted  trees in our college campus.
June 13 : Dept Staff meeting conducted for syllabus discussion.
June 14 :  ‘Maha Kavi Ulloor Anusmaranam yogam’  conducted - ‘Students’ presented a paper on the literary contribution of Mahakavi Ulloor.
June 17 : On behalf of Changampuzha Anusmaranam our P.G. students gathered and recited the verses of Changampuzha and Akshara sloka Malsaram conducted.
June 24 : Dept of Malayalam  conducted comptetion in connection with ‘Vayana   varam’ celebration. Staff and Students participated in the essay writing and ‘Vayanakurippu’ competition.
June 26 : Dept of Malayalam celebrated ‘Vayanothsavam’ in a colorfull manner. Rev. Sr. Janeena a well known speaker of Malayalasahithyam Inaugurated the function. Dr. Leena.M.A. precided over the function. Prizes were distributed for the winners of Literary competition.
July 4 : Mr. Justin.P.G attended UGC sponsered orientation programme counducted by Accadamic staff college, university Calicut from July 4th to 31th.
July 5 : Dept of Malayalam conducted Vykkom Muhammed Bhasheer  Anusmarana yogam Sr. Vineetha George a gave a short message about Bhashir’s Literary contributions.
July 13 : Our sisters staff Sr. Sheeba and Sr. Vineetha George attended a seminar conducted by the manager in our college Auditorium.
July 17 :  Sr. Sheeba.A.C. gave an extention lecture to the students of St. Theresas School Bhrahmakulam on Peer group Influences on teen agers.
July 20 : Our lady Teachers attended in a seminar at St. Clares C.G.H.S.S. Thrissur arranged by our manager.

Aug 2 : Mrs. Annam presented a paper in the National seminar at Mary’s College Thrissur. ‘Koythinte Apanirmithy- Puthenkalavum Arivakulam Adistanamakky oru Padhanam’.
August 23 : Dept of Malayalam conducted ‘Ayyappapanikkar Anusmaranam’ for the Malayalam P.G. Students.
August 23 : Mrs.Annam Sini Attended on open diffence at Sree Kerala Varma College Thrissur.
August24 : Mis. Sobhitha joy Delivered a talk on Dimmensia at the Dimentia centre kottapady for the N.S.S. Voluntiers.
August 25: Mrs.Annam Sini delivered an extension lecture on Micro Enterprises programme cashew products.
Sept 5 : Teachers of Malayalam Dept. were honoured by the P.G. Malayalam students by their beloved greetings and bouquet, as a part of teachers day celebrations.
Sept 5 : Sr. Sheeba..A.C. delivered a speech on Mother Therasa Anusmarana yogam at Matha Hall Guruvayoor.
Sept 8 : Sr. Sheeba..A.C. delivered a speech on Mother’s seminar at Anjoor parish.
Sept 9 : Sr.Sheeba.A.C. attended 3 days Jesus youth programme – ‘Meet Jesus’ at Angamali  Public School, with six students.
Sept 16 : Sr. Sheeha.A.C. attended all Kerala Jesus youth FAITH COFERENCE  at Irigalakuda  Christ Vidya Nikethan with eight students.
Oct 2 : We Celebrated Gandhi Jayandhi and gave awareness about ‘Sevana Varam’ to students and conducted general cleaning of the Department.   
Oct 4 : Sr. Vineetha George & Mrs. Annam Sini.A.P. attended in the retresher course conducted by A.S.C University of Calicut from 4th to 24th Oct 2013.
Oct 17 : Sr. Vineetha George and Mrs. Annam Sini attended in a National seminar conducted by A.S.C. and Dept of women students of Calicut University, on Child marriage and human rights.’
Oct 24 : Mrs. Sobhitha Joy Delivered a talk on ‘Women Empowerment Seminar’ organized by Guruvayoor Janamaithry Police  at Guruvayoor Town Hall.
Oct 29 : Dept of Malayalm conducted a Inter University Competition on Extempore speech and Recitation.  15 teams participated from various colleges and Universities.
Oct 31 : A women Empowerment awareness seminar conducted by Malayalam Dept in which Dr. Molly Joseph Mambilly delivered a speech on Sthree Saktheekaranathinle Aavasyakatha to P.G. Malayalam students.
Nov 1 : Dept of Malayalam celebrated ‘Keralapiravi Dinaghosham’ along with Malayalm samajam inauguration. Dr. Joy paul Director of the malayala padhana gaveshana kendrum, inaugurated the function and delivered a talk on classical status of Malayalam Language at College Auditorium. All the staff and students participated in the functions. Our P.G.Students prepared Keralam with different kind of grain seeds and lightened the lambs on it.
Nov 1 : Mrs. Sobhitha Joy presented a paper on the topic ‘Sahajeevaanathinte Arrangu – Sahyante Maken Nalkunna Samskarika Padangal on U.G.C. sponsored National seminar organized by K.K.T.M. College Kodungalloor.
Nov 5 : Dr. Leena.M.A. the former H.O.D Dept of Malayalam conducted a seminar on Nattarivu to the P.G. Malayalam students.
Nov 12 : Mr. Justin.P.G. presented a seminar paper on the Sanskrit Lingustics conducted by Dept of Sanskrit, Govt Sanskrit college, Thripunnithara.
Nov 14 : Mr. Justin.P.G. presented a paper sermon on the  on the Mount & Vedanta Philosophy in International  seminar educationalon in All – Inclusive Universal spiritualty conducted by CIFSS, Adi sankara Nilayam, Veliyand & SHEN Canada.
Nov 22 : Mrs. Shijy.C. Muringathery, Mis. Sobitha Joy & Mrs. Vijitha.P. Presented papers on U.G.C. sponsored National seminar organized by St. Joseph College, Alapuzha.
Nov 25 : A study tour conducted to the P.G. Malayalam students. Visited Athirapilly & Vazhachal waterfalls and peringalkuth power station. The whole staff and students enjoyed the top with great enthusiastic manner.
Nov 27 : Mrs. Shijy.C. Muringathery, attended the ‘Winter school programme’ from 27.11.2013 to 17.12.2013, conducted by A.S.C. Calicut University John Mathay centre Aranattukara Thrissur.
Dec 2 : Mr.Justin P.G – Delivered an extension lecture at Sabarigiri Residental school Anchal Kollam on ‘Who said you can’t win?’ from 2nd to 14th December 2013.
Dec 19 : Dept of Malayalam conducted X’mas celebration by cutting and distributing cake gifts exchange to Xmas making crib in the department and with carrol songs.
Jan 13 : Mr. Justin.P.G presented a paper in the National seminar on Vedantha Philosophy Phenomenology Enlightment and Transformation, organized by dept of Sanskrit Govt.Sanskrit of college Thripunithura from 31 to 15th January.
Jan 21 : Folklore club Inaugurated. A Banner competition was conducted by using folklore items conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Jan 23 : Two day U.G.C. sponsored National seminar foregrounding of folk elements in Malayalam literature and culture conducted. Eminent personalities of Folklore studies both Kerala and outside Kerala were presided and presented papers rerated to their research papers. Altogether 500 members participated Research Schollers also presented their papers. In which our faculty members       Sr. Sheeba.A.C, Sr. Vineetha George, Shijy.C. Muringathery, Mrs. Annam Sini.A.P., Mrs. Sobhitha Joy, Mr. Justin.P.G, & Mrs. Vijitha.P. were also presented papers.
Feb 7 : Sr. Sheeba.A.C. delivered a talk to the inmates of Lourde Nilayam Bala Bhavan at Perumbullyssery.     
Feb 10 : As a part of Sanskrit Day celebration literary competitions were conducted by Dept of Sanskrit.
Feb 10 – Inter departmented Quiz competition based on Sanskrit literature conducted by Dept of Sanskrit.   
Feb 28 : Sr.Sheeba. A.C attended a three days Inter National Seminar conducted by the Christian Chair of Calicut University from Feb 28th to 2nd March.

Activities of 2012-2013

                    Malayalam Association inauguration along with Keralapiravi celebration was organized in the college Auditorium with various colourful programmes on 7^th Nov 2012.The former HOD Malayalam Dr.Molly Joseph Mambilly Inaugrated the function. College principal Rev.Dr.Sr.Maria victor presided over the function, Onam festival was celebrated with varity entertainments programmes. Class wise handwritten magazine competition was held as a part of Onam celebration which  brought out colourful magazines with sweet memorable memories of Onam.

                     Malayalam department conducted two day U.G.C.Sponsored National Seminar on the Topic Socio-linguistic aspects of folk literature in oral tradition on 29^th & 30^th Nov 2012 at college Auditorium. Eminent scholars from Kerala and outside Kerala were present papers the function. Prof.Emeritus Dr.A.K.Nambiar Inaugrated the function opening ceremony of the seminar. Dr.Punnuse Associate professor and HOD of Uruon Christian College Aluva inaugurated the validictary fuction. A research journal of our PG Students over the function. Malayala Sameeksha released over the function. A parallel session arranged for the paper presentation of research schollers of various colleges and universities.

                                  Our faculty members Sr.Sheeba A.C., Sr.Vineetha George, Mrs. Shaijy C.Muringathery, Mrs.Annam Sini were attended an orientation programme at Academic staff college at Calicut university in this academic year.

Activities of 2011-12

Malayalam Association was inaugurated on 15^th Sep 2011. Prof.Santhakumari Guruvayoor Muncipality chairperson and former HOD of Sanskrit Department of Sreekrishna College Guruvayoor, inaugurated the function. Our HOD Dr.M.A.Leena presided over the function. In the memory of P.N Panikkar our department celebrated Vayanavaram from 19^th to 24^th June 2011 with various activities like Vayanakurip, Quiz Competition etc on 5^th July 2011 Basheer Anusmaranam was arranged. Nov.1^st being Kerala Piravi Dinam an Inter Collegiate Quiz competition was arranged in collaboration with History and politics Departments.

                     A workshop on Nattubhakshanam was arranged by the Department on 13^th March 2012 by Dr.Leena M.A. and a food fest arranged on behalf of this.

Activities of  2010-11

Malayalam Samajam of Academic year 2010-11 was inaugurated on 19^th Sep 2010. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr.Leena M.A HOD of Malayalam Department. The famous painter and artist Mr. Gayathri Inaugrated the function.

Activities of 2009-2010

1^st Decade celebrations

Tenth Anniversary of Malayalam Department and Malayala Samajam were celebrated on 29^th Sep 2009. The official function was inaugurated by Rev.Sr.Joseph Retired Professor & HOD of Malayalam Department. Dr.Molly Joseph Mambilly, HOD of Malayalam Department delivered the presidential address. The celebration was memorable with presence of all teaching and non-teaching of members along with the students. Our PG Students participated in the two day workshop on language, literature and culture, which was organized by Vivekananda college Kunnamkulam on 22^nd, 23^rd of oct2009. Students were distributed certificates by the famous writer Rafeek Ahamed.

Women poets meet

Malayalam Department Hosted women poets meet in association with Kerala Sahitya Academy and Ankanam Kalasamskarika vedi. Sahitya academy Regional secretary Dr.A.S.Illangovil welcomed the gathering. Recitation of the selected womens poets were taken place. Programme was enriched by fecilations and paper presentation by Dr.Molly Joseph mambilly and Dr.Usha Balakrishnan Certificates were distributed by the famous writer Sri.Vaisakhan.

Seminar on Media studies

A seminar was organized on media studies on 16^th August 2010. Muthrubhoomi Sub editor Mr.M.P.Surendran was the chief guest of the day.

UGC sponsored NET/SET examination coaching classes were arranged for the PG students in the month of March & April every year...
